The slitting machine consists of an unwinding mechanism, a cutting mechanism, a rewinding mechanism, various functional rollers, and a tension control, deviation control and detection device; its working principle is: the metallized film raw material discharged from the unwinding mechanism is flattened by the tension roller. The detection roller, empowering roller, and correction system enter the cutting mechanism. After the raw materials are slit, they are wound up into standard film rolls by the winding mechanism. So what are the slitting methods of the slitting machine?
The slitting machine can be roughly divided into three methods during the slitting process: flat knife slitting, round knife slitting, and extrusion slitting.
1. Flat knife slitting
Just like a razor, a single-sided blade or a double-sided blade is fixed on a fixed knife holder, and the knife is dropped while the material is running, so that the knife cuts the material longitudinally to achieve the purpose of slitting.
There are two ways of razor slitting:
One is grooving slitting; the other is suspended slitting.
Grooving and slitting means that when the material is running on the grooved roller, the cutter falls into the groove of the grooved roller and the material is cut longitudinally. At this time, the material has a certain wrapping angle on the grooved roller and is not prone to drift. This slitting method is commonly used when slitting cast PP films or films with narrow edges, which can improve slitting efficiency. But for suspended slitting, its disadvantage is that it is more inconvenient to set the knife.
Suspension slitting means that when the material passes between two rollers, the razor falls and cuts the material longitudinally. At this time, the material is in a relatively unstable state, so the slitting accuracy is slightly worse than that of die slitting, but this kind of slitting The method is convenient for tool setting and easy to operate.
Flat cutter slitting is mainly suitable for slitting very thin plastic films and composite films.
2. Circular knife slitting
Circular knife slitting can be divided into tangential slitting and non-tangential slitting.
Tangential slitting means the material is cut in the tangent direction of the upper and lower disc knives. This type of slitting is more convenient for knife setting. The upper and lower disc knives can be easily and directly adjusted according to the cutting width requirements. Its disadvantage is that the material is easy to drift at the cutting point, so the accuracy is not high, and it is generally not used now.
Non-tangential slitting means that the material and the lower disc knife have a certain wrapping angle, and the lower disc knife falls to cut the material. This cutting method can make the material less likely to drift and achieve high cutting accuracy. However, it is not very convenient to adjust the knife. When installing the lower disc knife, the entire shaft must be removed. Circular knife slitting is suitable for slitting relatively thick composite films and papers.
3. Extrusion and cutting
Extrusion slitting is not common in domestic slitting machines. It mainly consists of a bottom roller that is synchronized with the material speed and has a certain angle with the material, and a pneumatic knife that is easy to adjust. This cutting method can not only cut thin plastic films, but also thick paper, non-woven fabrics, etc. It is a more convenient way to cut. It is a development direction of slitting machine slitting method.
This process of cutting must be taken seriously and must not be taken lightly. This article summarizes the purpose and process flow of slitting, so that the majority of composite film manufacturers can solve a series of quality problems in future slitting production to ensure the stable quality of composite film slitting.
